We’ll Miss You, Britt

Ready to talk shop?

Our summer intern, Brittany, or as she prefers, Britt, hopped on board the Echo-Factory train three months ago. Starbucks coffee addiction, dealing with our craziness, and graphic design skills are some of the reasons Britt fits right in. Keep reading to get the scoop on Britt.

What’s the most exciting thing you’ve witnessed while working at Echo-Factory?
The most exciting thing I’ve witnessed was Mustafa and Carl plotting to scare Sarah. It was the first Friday I started interning, and I thought I was in a scene of Animal House. Mustafa and Carl were running back and forth down the hallway trying to find the perfect hiding spot. They asked me to take part in their plan, but I ended up passing the duty onto Roni. In the end Mustafa and Carl’s plan didn’t work out too well, and I think Sarah ended up scaring the both of them. The second most exciting thing I’ve witnessed while working here is group lunches. We all gather in the conference room and the stories just keep coming.

When did you realize that you want to pursue a career in the creative field?
I’ve always loved art, but I think high school is when I realized it was something I wanted to do for a living. I took a Graphic Design course in high school and it came very naturally to me, and I never lost interest.

Is working at an ad agency like an episode of Mad Men?
To be honest I’ve never seen Mad Men, but I do have a story that partially answers the question. When I first started interning here, I had my picture posted on the Echo-Factory Facebook and I shared it with my friends. One of my friends left a comment on the picture, and said it looked like a scene from the show Mad Men.

What inspires you creatively?
There isn’t any one thing that inspires me. I’m inspired by things I see online, other artists, and anything random that catches my eye.

What has been your favorite part about working at Echo-Factory?
What has been your least favorite? My favorite part about working at Echo-Factory has been the atmosphere and the people.  When I come into the office every morning I like that I’m able to walk around and say hi to everyone, the vibe is always friendly and enthusiastic. My least favorite part about working at Echo-Factory has been working in seclusion, aka the conference room, but it gives me an excuse to wander around the office and talk to everyone.

What is one interesting fact you’d like to share with us?
Well I don’t want to expose myself too much, but I did eat a cockroach last summer.  It was at my summer job and my co-workers dared me to. Lesson learned, get the money before eating the cockroach.

If you were stranded on a desert Island and could only take one form of technology what would it be and why?
I would take a camera, I thought about a computer but that would be too cliche. I love taking pictures, and I guess if I’m reliving the movie Cast Away, might as well document my adventure.

When it comes to advertising and marketing, we mean business.
