Every year we get to accompany our friends at The Annual NALMCO Trade Show and Convention. A couple years ago we went to Florida with fake staches and a photo booth in tow. Last year, we were in our own backyard in Rancho Mirage. We had some social media personalities and a caricature artist at our booth.

This year, we really lucked out and got to travel all the way to the Bahamas. We knew we had to go big.  After hours of brainstorming, we decided to go with the obvious. So, we hosted the first annual  Rock’em Sock’em Robot Championship.

Screen Shot 2013-10-25 at 11.43.10 AMTo get the word out we made promotional postcards, stuck robot stickers all over the trade show, and set up a charging station for attendees to juice up their devices while they fought to the death.

Here’s the thing about lighting experts, when it comes to knocking a robot’s block off, they get pretty intense. The competition was stiff, with sweat in their eyes and some serious adrenaline rushing, our photo 4competitors fought throughout the weekend.

Right hook, left hook, upper cut. It got brutal; they knew, and we knew, only one victor would reign.

Finally, after a strict regime and lots of dedication, Fred Hauber, the past President of NALMCO, won the title. We didn’t have a huge blingged out belt for him. Instead he got a massive trophy, bragging rights, and most importantly, the title of Rock’em Sock’em World Champion for a whole year.

Rumor is, he’s talking to Wheaties about a sponsorship.

We had a blast, if you were lucky enough to be at the trade show, thanks for coming; it was good to see you. If you missed out, we challenge you to a match right now in our conference room.
