A Scalable, Self-Managed Website Platform for Cedars-Sinai's Affiliate Network

Healthcare

As a partner capable of navigating both enterprise complexity and brand-level nuance, Echo-Factory built an independent web platform that lets Cedars-Sinai's affiliate labs, institutes, and programs manage their own content and grow — without being tied to corporate infrastructure.

Summary

Cedars-Sinai’s corporate website runs on a robust, tightly governed enterprise system built for the parent brand — not for the dozens of individual research institutes, medical groups, and specialty programs operating under the Cedars-Sinai umbrella. Each of these affiliates needed its own marketing presence, but building one-off brand sites that strictly adhered to corporate brand guidelines and technical requirements would have stretched Cedars-Sinai’s internal teams far beyond their time, energy, and resources.

Cedars-Sinai brought in Echo-Factory to design and build a network of affiliate websites that could operate independently of the corporate backend while still meeting the health system’s standards for security and brand consistency. Just as important, each affiliate needed the ability to manage and update its own content directly — without routing every change through Cedars-Sinai’s internal IT team.

THE APPROACH

Echo-Factory built a repeatable, scalable framework that could support Cedars-Sinai’s growing roster of affiliates without sacrificing the polish or protection of an enterprise platform:

  •  Independent, Affiliate-Managed CMS: Gave each affiliate a content platform of its own, so teams could publish updates and market to their audiences directly, without waiting on Cedars-Sinai’s corporate IT team.
  • A Repeatable Core Site Structure: Standardized each site around a shared set of components — homepage, About Us, resource centers, news and events, clinical trial and research information, and educational content like webinars and researcher-focused programming — so new affiliate sites could launch quickly and consistently.
  • Content & Engagement Tools: Built in the ability for affiliates to publish articles, scientific updates, product announcements, and event listings, alongside event calendars and secure inquiry forms that route submissions directly to each organization’s core team.
  • Enterprise-Grade Compliance: Implemented ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and best practices like two-factor authentication to keep every site secure. On the SEO side, each site launched with sitemaps, 301 redirects from legacy URLs, and optimized meta titles and descriptions. Echo-Factory also proactively flagged accessibility compliance as a requirement the Cedars-Sinai team hadn’t yet scoped, secured approval, and delivered ahead of deadline.

THE RESULTS

  • Delivered independently operated, self-service websites for a growing network of Cedars-Sinai affiliates
  • Freed Cedars-Sinai’s internal teams from fielding one-off content and development requests
  • Maintained enterprise-grade security and accessibility compliance across every affiliate site
  • Preserved consistency with Cedars-Sinai’s brand and technical standards while giving each affiliate its own voice and audience-facing tools

The result is a flexible website publishing platform that lets each Cedars-Sinai affiliate distribute information to its own audience — without the overhead of corporate infrastructure, and without sacrificing the security or brand consistency the health system requires.
